Dmitri Golovanov

Born in 1969 in St. Petersburg, Russia, DMITRI GOLOVANOV (viola) studied at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory. In 1991 he left Russia and moved to Copenhagen, where he became principal viola player of the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra. Two years later he was appointed principal viola player at the Danish National Symphony Orchestra.

Dmitri Golovanov is a sought-after chamber musician and has performed as a soloist with a number of orchestras. He has participated in many festivals and concerts across Europe and is featured on numerous CD recordings.

Dmitri is a professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and at the Malmö Academy of Music.
