Gabriele Slizyte

Originally from Lithuania, Gabrielé Sližyté is a violinist, journalist and musicologist. Winner of the 2018 Molière  award for best musical show with the Histoire du Soldat by Stravinsky-Ramuz, she obtained her DNSMP at the Pôle Supérieur de Paris Boulogne-Billancourt in 2017. At the same time, she perfected her skills with Dalia Richter, concertmaster of the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra. Gabriele performs regularly in the most prestigious European halls such as the Philharmonie de Paris, the Salle Pleyel, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, the Nouveau Siècle in Lille, the Philharmonie de Vilnius and the Konzerthaus in Berlin, under the direction of Paavo Järvi, François-Xavier Roth, Fabien Gabel and Jean-Claude Casadesus, amongst others. Gabriele Slizyte has also taken part in various orchestral tours in China and most recently in the United Arab Emirates with the Orchestre Pasdeloup and the Ballet de l’Opéra de Paris.

Having toured Europe as a violinist, Gabriele turned to literature and musicology in 2012 when she came to Paris and became the special correspondent for the Lithuanian magazine, Muzikos barai in Paris; she has been writing regularly for this magazine since 2013.

Gabrielé Sližyté now pursues these two activities that are particularly close to her heart: her work as a musician and her work as a musicologist.
