Hailed for her artistry, virtuosity and charismatic presence on stage, Croatian born cellist PETRA KUŠAN received her musical education in Zagreb and Augsburg. Her teachers included great pedagogues such as Valter Dešpalj and Julius Berger and she made her debut as a soloist with orchestra at the age of ten. Petra has since played as soloist with renowned orchestras such as the Symphony Orchestra of Czech Radio, Kremerata Baltica, Budapest Strings, Leopold Mozart Ensemble, Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra of Croatian Radio, Zagreb Soloists, Symphony Orchestra of Croatian Armed Forces, Symphony Orchestra of Zagreb Music Academy, Croatian Chamber Orchestra. Her concert activities have taken her to most European countries, performing at renowned festivals such as Cello Festival Kronberg, Amsterdam Cello Biennale and Dubrovnik Summer Festival. She has recorded for Croatian, Czech, Russian, German, Austrian and French radio, broadcast on many international radio stations.

A passionate chamber musician, Petra Kušan has performed with artists such as Mischa Maisky, Jose Gallardo, Giovanni Sollima, Daniel Gaede, Radovan Vlatković, Monika Leskovar and many others. She is a member of the internationally acclaimed ensemble Cellomania. Together with the violinist Anamarija Milić and pianist Petra Gilming, she founded Croatian Piano Trio, with whom she has given performances throughout Croatia and Europe to critical acclaim.

During her studies, Petra was awarded with scholarships from the City of Zagreb, Bavarian Government, Leopold Mozart Curatorium, Vladimir Spivakov Foundation and Mozarteum in Salzburg. She holds the prestigious Ivo Vuljević award – Musician of the Year 2007 awarded by the Croatian Juenesses Musicales. In 2018 she became a signed artist for US recording label Parma Recordings with her debut CD announced for January 2019.
