Philine Höhnisch

German viola-player, PHILINE HÖHNISCH, began studying the violin in her native Berlin with Bettina Mros and Katharina Katzer when she was eight years old, before changing to the viola ten years later.  She was an award winner at the “Jugend musiziert” competition and spent several years as a member of the “Junge Philharmonie Brandenburg“. She has played at many festivals and academies in Germany, Austria & Italy, including jOPERA at Schloss Tabor with Sebastian Weigle and the summer academy in Cervo (Italy).

Passionate about chamber music, Philine has played with musicians such as Stephan Picard, Erika Geldsetzer, Wilfried Strehle und Troels Svane and participated in projects with Ferenc Gábor, Lothar Friedrich, Frank-Immo Zichner, the Armida Quartett and the Artemis Quartett.

She holds a post at the Regenbogen Kunstund Musikschule e.V. in Blankenfelde (Berlin).

Philine also plays regularly in ensembles such as Operation der Künste, Wedding Kammerensemble, Jazzbands “Mathei Florea New Grounds” and “Shogo Seifert’s Rauke”.
