Bogumiła Wawrowska

In 2004, soprano BOGUMIŁA WAWROWSKA graduated with distinction from Frederic Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where she attended vocal classes under the celebrated Polish contralto, Professor Jadwiga Rappe. In 2020 she received a PhD in Music. She is the laureate of numerous vocal competitions, her stage debut took place when she was a student at the UMFC, at the time she was given the role of the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro by W. A. Mozart. Since then, she has appeared regularly in numerous theatrical productions as well as concerts in Poland and across the world (Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Luxemburg, Switzerland, France, Lithuania, Ukraine, Czechia, Denmark, Spain, Sweden, Belarus, Israel, Palestine, Ukraine, Canada, Taiwan).

Bogumiła’s repertoire includes masterpieces from various epochs spanning from Baroque to contemporary music, songs, arias, opera and operetta duos as well as other musical pieces (Le nozze di Figaro (Contessa) W. A. Mozart, Il Barbiere di Seviglia (Rosina) G. Rossini, The Haunted Manor (Hanna) S. Moniuszko, Verbum nobile (Zuzia) S. Moniuszko, La Boheme (Mimi) G. Puccini, Fiddler on the Roof (Hudel) J. Bock, Lustige Wietwe (Hanna Glawary) F. Lehar, Die Czarda’s Furstin (Stasi) E. Kalman, Prodana nevesta (Marzenka) B. Smetana, Wonderful Town (Eileen) L. Bernstein, The Company (Jenny) S. Sondheim.

She has performed with New Ideas Chamber Orchestra, Amadeus, Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, Warsaw Philharmonic, Aukso Chamber Orchestra and many other Polish symphony orchestras. She has collaborated as a soloist with conductors such as Łukasz Borowicz, Gabriel Chmura, Manfred di Crescenzo, Agnieszka Duczmal, Gediminas Gelgotas, Daniel Huppert, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Shlomo Mintz, Ruben Silva.

Bogumiła has taken part in many international festivals including the Warsaw Autumn Festival, Festival Emanacje in The Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre of Music (Lusławice), Old Music Festival (Royal Castle in Warsaw), Festival International de Musique Sion Valais (Switzerland), The Festival International de Musique de Chambre en Charente (France), Casa dei Mezzo Music Festival (Creta), University of Alberta and the Polish Congress of Alberta Festival (Canada), Cimei Museum (Taiwan). She has cooperated with the Grand Theatre – National Opera in Warsaw, The Warsaw Chamber Opera and The Musical Theatre in Lodz.

She has also recorded numerous pieces from Polish Radio and Television.

Since 2010, Bogumiła has been general director of the Spaces of Music Chamber Music Festival and the President of The Zygmunt Noskowski’s Music Foundation in Poland.
